About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). This position is located at the Joint Interagency Task Force South, Plans & Policy, J5.
Serve as a Joint Planner for DOD, Interagency, Allied, Participating Nations, and Country Team Counterdrug/Counter Transnational Organized Crime plans and policy.
Conduct joint and interagency planning to prepare concepts of operations, operations plans, campaign plans, and operation orders.
Prepare the design and staffing of myriad land, air, and maritime Counterdrug/ Counter Transnational Organized Crime plans.
Initiate and coordinate planning requirements for new technologies and agreements to include developing performance criteria and employment techniques.
Provide expert analysis and formulation of mid and long-range Counterdrug/Counter Transnational Organized Crime resource requirements.
Initiate and coordinate planning requirements for new technologies and agreements with U. S. and foreign agencies.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
Must perform Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 50% or less of the time.
This position is designated Tier 5, Special Sensitive, High Risk and the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Level with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access as a condition of employment.
Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing analysis of resource requirements to support a Counterdrug/Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CD/CTCO) mission; planning or assisting with the planning operations, event activities, policies, and procedures to support a Counterdrug/Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CD/CTCO) mission; and partnering with senior officials, ambassadors, Participating Nation militaries, law enforcement, and/or other liaisons in support of a Counterdrug/Counter Transnational Organized Crime (CD/CTCO) mission. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS/GG-12.
