Help

Performs daily computer operations within established practices and procedures that apply to the assignment in support of various application programs that affect accuracy, reliability, acceptability, and timeliness of final work products. Uses knowledge of IT principles, methods, and practices to perform routine assignments in the specialty area. Uses knowledge of performance monitoring, quality assurance principles, technical documentation, system security, and analytical methods to identify and solve routine issues and problems, prepare and update manuals and operating procedures, provide information and assistance to customers, evaluate methods and procedures, prepare recommendations and ensure appropriate security measures are observed. Works a fluctuating work schedule to complete work assignments outside of the typical workweek and work hours.

Manages a comprehensive Information Technology inventory management program within MCCS. Provides recommendations on the implementation of internal controls in the area of inventory management, computerized inventory management, proper inventory procedures and year-end inventory implementation. Ensures that corrective actions were implemented on any inventory discrepancies noted. 

Performs the duties of Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to include (but not limited to) provision of notification of emerging threats to Information Technology Management. Provides detail on mitigation tactics to avoid impact to customers. Ensures current standards for protection of sensitive information are maintained and adhered to.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.

May be required to travel for temporary duty assignment.

This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required

EVALUATIONS:

Qualifications

Three years of computer operations experience that demonstrates knowledge of and skill in using Windows operating systems and both local and wide area networking preferred. Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications a plus. Demonstrated experience in inventory management. Knowledge of business management, or Last Updated 20 May 2022 management accounting concepts. Excellent organizational, communication, coordination, training and problem resolution skills. Knowledge of personal computer and program applications. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid government driver's license. Must possess analytical ability. As an authorized and privileged user of Department of Defense Information Systems must possess or receive Information Assurance awareness by completing the Security+ Certification as a condition of access within six months of employment, and thereafter must complete annual Information Assurance awareness training. This position has been determined as a level 1 ISSO. 

This position had been determined as Moderate Risk. As a condition of employment, the incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain an Access National Agency Check and Inquiries (ANACI/ Tier 3) Secret Clearance to access classified information.
