Duties

Help
  • Leads the Department in sensitive interagency intelligence programs and serves as the lead expert on Consular & Management Liaison related intelligence policy.
  • Serves as senior advisor to agency leadership on all Consular & Management Liaison matters & provides authoritative policy guidance to agency leadership.
  • Analyzes new intelligence proposals and initiates projects to identify the significance to the agency mission, working closely with regional and functional bureaus.
  • Represents Department equities in interagency committees, conferences, and working groups.

Qualifications

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

Experience managing the interagency and intra-Department coordination process to ensure conformity in sensitive intelligence programs with policy, procedure, and law.

Experience providing policy recommendations on intelligence programs to senior officials and multiple stakeholders. 

Experience writing memos, briefing checklists, and memoranda of agreements, and coordinating clearance and approvals at the front office and above levels.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.

  • Knowledge of Foreign policy/international affairs
  • Skill in providing authoritative policy guidance to Department leadership.
  • Ability to represent agency in interagency intelligence policy coordination.
  • Skill in evaluating program effectiveness and implementing improvements to policies and procedures
  • Ability to provide advice, guidance, and consultation based on results of analyses.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information derived from a variety of sources.
