Incentives and Bonuses

Summary
This position is located at Fort Wainwright Outdoor Recreation.
Incentives and Bonuses

United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.
Plans, schedules, organizes and implements outdoor activities to include but are not limited to cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, skeet shooting, parks, ranges, mountain climbing and overnight recreational trips.
Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment.
Researches, plans and develops or enlarges outdoor recreation areas.
Prepares standard operating procedures.
May assist in the preparation and development of the annual operating budget and 5- year plan.
Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
May be required to work nights, weekends and holidays on a regular basis or as needed.
Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups.
Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
Possess a current Wilderness First Responder Certification.
Possess experience facilitating outdoor adventure programming in cold weather climates.
Possess experience teaching outdoor recreation, safety, and awareness curriculum.

The Area of Consideration for this vacancy announcement is defined as the local commuting area. (Fort Wainwright and surrounding communities within 150 miles of the installation). This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
