Duties

Help
  • Review work orders that are prepared and issued by Planners and Estimators.
  • Initiate procurement of material by preparing requisitions for materials.
  • Advise Maintenance Scheduler, Planners, and Estimators when material is available, ordered and provide estimated delivery dates.
  • Maintain major suppliers catalogs to ensure catalogs contain current information.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Shop Planner (Prod Machinery Mech) without more than normal supervision. Duties such as production machinery and equipment work. Apply production machinery methods and techniques. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

  • Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading)
  • Ability to Provide Production Support Services
  • Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, and Repair, etc.
  • Knowledge of Materials
  • Technical Practices (Theoretical, Precise, Artistic)
  • Physical Effort: Normally, performs work in an office setting. Frequently we must work on hard surfaces and in areas that require the incumbent to stoop, stand, bend and work in tiring positions. Frequently lifts and carries materials and parts weighing up to 40 lbs. May handle heavier items weighing up to 60 lbs. Forklifts and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items.
  • Working Conditions: Work is usually performed in areas that are well lighted, heated and ventilated. Work is occasionally performed where there is dirt, dust and grease. Exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes and bruises.

  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • This is a Material Maintenance Management (17) Career Field position.
  • This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.

  • Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement.
  • Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.

  • Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade NTE 1 Year by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition.
  • Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Temporary appointment will be appointed/converted into a Temporary appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position, to the additional information section.
