Duties

Help

  • Review public comments received by the FDIC to sort and classify the comment, identify and redact sensitive or personally identifying information.
  • Research the Federal Register and other sources of banking-related regulatory and statutory information and prepares responses based on research findings.
  • Serve as the Liaison Officer or Alternate Liaison Officer with the Office of the Federal Register.
  • Establish and coordinate procedures for adding material to, and deleting material from, the FDIC’s collection of regulatory and related reference materials maintained on the FDIC’s external website.
  • Establish new procedures and work methods as necessary to carry out the unit’s functions.
  • Prepare reports, memoranda, and correspondence as necessary in response to requests related to the unit’s functions.
  • Make judgments regarding material to be included in or deleted from the FDIC’s collection of regulatory and related reference materials maintained on the FDIC’s external website.
  • Collect, verify, and distribute status information regarding rulemaking activities and coordinate with other agency liaisons for purposes of preparing, obtaining approval of, and submitting the FDIC’s entries for the Unified Agenda.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. CG-13: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 13 level in the Federal Service which includes writing, reviewing, and editing documents for technical compliance with Federal Register requirements for publication.
