Duties

Help

The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

  • Completes top-tier customer service operations, assistance, and analysis; vendor monitoring; support for the Mint headquarters kiosk and external sales events; oversight of external physical inventories; and/or sales outreach
  • Responsible to assist in all merchandising and retail sales functions, including product setup and launch, inventory planning, control, and accountability
  • Systematically collects, analyzes and interprets numismatic marketing data
  • Performs complex marketing planning and analysis, and associated functions that address critical agency priorities and objectives and strategic plans
  • Develops and implements significant program strategies

  • All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines.

  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
  • If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 14 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience: For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

-Implements retail operational standard operating procedures; and
-Develops long and short-range retail sale operational plans; and
-Evaluates effectiveness through retail sales program for attainment of agency goals; and
-Develops sales, promotional and merchandising strategies, brochures and pamphlets; and
-Experience participating in sales conventions to promote products or programs.


Specialized Experience: For the GS-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

-Implements retail operational standard operating procedures; and
-Develops sales, promotional and merchandising strategies, brochures and pamphlets; and
-Experience participating in sales conventions to promote products or programs.



Specialized experience for the GS-11 is one year (52) weeks of experience at the GS-9 level or equivalent in either public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position as listed in this announcement and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

-Develops sales, promotional and merchandising strategies, brochures and pamphlets; AND
-Experience participating in sales conventions to promote products or programs.
OR

You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.





In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12level for 52 weeks. For the GS-12 you must have been at the GS-11level for 52 weeks. For the GS-11 you must have been at the GS-9level for 52 weeks.
