Tour of Duty:
Do you prefer Day Shift (5:00am - 1:30pm) Evening Shift (1:00 pm - 9:30pm) or Night Shift (9:00pm - 5:30am)---If you would like to be considered for more than one shift, please list the shift in order of preference in your work history/resume.
This position is essential. The employee is required to report to work during emergencies and inclement weather situations. The tour of duty may include holidays and weekends on a regular or recurring basis. Rotating shift work may also be required at Management's discretion.
Duties:
Assigns the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the workgroup. Works along with other workers and set the pace. Obtains needed information of decisions from the supervisor on problems that come up during the work. Maintains a current knowledge and answers questions of other workers on procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives. Assures that there is enough work to keep everyone in work crew busy. Checks work while in progress and when finished to see whether the supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met. Reports to supervisor on status and progress of work and causes of any work delays.
Installs, assembles, troubleshoots, modifies, repairs, and maintains electrical circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. Troubleshoots electrical devices containing electronic components to isolate the cause of the malfunction of electrical control systems, analog/digital controls, and solid state motor control circuits in equipment. Works from building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings and electrical maintenance and repair manuals.
Troubleshoots, test, and loads new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. Determines location of existing electrical devices and service entrances and places new ones. Locates ground faults in complex electronic and electrical networks.
Traces hard-to-locate defects or problems. Interprets and applies the National Electrical Code, local codes, building plans, blue prints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings and uses trade formulas to calculate common properties.. Installs, modifies, repairs, loads, and tests systems, circuits, equipment, and controls.
Performs the electrical aspects of construction and renovation work. Installs electrical devices in rooms for which there may not be complete blueprints or schematics available as a result of the age of the facility. Improvises to install the updated circuits and equipment in antiquated facilities without adversely affecting the existing design or architecture.
Plans and lays out trades work which includes but is not limited to measuring, cutting, routing, placement, type, size, gauge, balance, load, continuity, and safe operation of electrical lines, circuits, systems, equipment, and controls.
Prepares estimates of material and equipment needed and submits requisitions to supervisor for materials, equipment, and supplies necessary to perform the electrical and electronic duties.
Complies with all OSHA safety rules and regulations to ensure that work progresses in a safe manner and to initiate or take corrective action on unsafe conditions in managed areas. Provides or receives training, either on the job or through classroom training to ensure that all direct reports know how to use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
