This position is located in the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS), Facilities Services Directorate (FSD), Facilities Operations and Services Division (FOSD). The incumbent serves as the Alterations and Repair Program Construction Control Representative, responsible for planning, coordinating, designing, estimating, and inspecting reimbursable projects. Duties

Help

Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Serve as a Construction Control Representative and technical expert, performing "cradle to grave" project management for construction, renovation, and repair projects, including developing project plans, schedules, and resource requirements.

  • Act as the on-site representative for the agency in secure facilities, providing technical oversight and direction to ensure construction projects comply with contract plans, specifications, and all security protocols.

  • Coordinate the development and review of complex designs involving multiple engineering disciplines, ensuring all technical documents are accurate, feasible, and compliant with Pentagon Reservation codes and standards.

  • Function as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) by evaluating contractor performance, preparing cost estimates, initiating change orders, and ensuring all contractual work is completed satisfactorily before recommending final payment.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to successfully perform the duties related to the position being filled. Specialized experience is defined as: (1) directing or coordinating the planning and execution of complex events, ceremonies, or activities that require integration of logistics, scheduling, security considerations, and multiple support functions; (2) managing or overseeing permitting or space use processes, including reviewing, approving, or coordinating requests in accordance with established laws, regulations, and organizational guidance; (3) Serving as a senior liaison or advisor to leadership and stakeholders, providing guidance on event requirements, space utilization, and operational feasibility.


Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: Federal agencies treat active duty service member as veterans, disabled veterans, and preference eligible, when they submit, as part of their application package, a "certification" of active service in lieu of a DD-214, indicating the service member is otherwise eligible and will be discharged or released within 120 days from the date of submission..
