The Industrial Security Division is responsible for the Department of State’s (DoS) implementation of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) which was established to safeguard classified national security information (NSI) entrusted to or generated by U. S. Government contractors.
Summary
This position is located in the Industrial Security Division, Office of Information Security, Security Infrastructure Directorate, Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS/IS/IND).
The Industrial Security Division is responsible for the Department of State’s (DoS) implementation of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) which was established to safeguard classified national security information (NSI) entrusted to or generated by U. S. Government contractors.
Oversees a team engaged in developing and implementing industrial security goals, objectives, policies, plans, and priorities in support of domestic diplomatic facilities.
Plans and coordinates industrial security activities that ensure the protection of classified National Security Information (NSI), Sensitive but Unclassified (SBU), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) released to Department contractors.
Exercises supervisory responsibilities involving planning, assigning, and reviewing work, as well as the administrative and personnel management functions relative to the staff supervised.
Represents the Department in meetings and working groups tasked with the development and implementation of National Industrial Security Program (NISP) policies and procedures.
Advises on technical, policy, and programmatic issues to ensure consideration of all relevant factors in the development and implementation of policy decisions on industrial security matters.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Obtain/maintain eligibility to access Sensitive Compartmented Information
Qualifications

Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing and implementing industrial security policies and plans.
Experience analyzing and recommending solutions to industrial security issues.
Experience presenting industrial security briefings or trainings.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
In addition, applicant's experience must also demonstrate that the candidate possesses the following qualities:

Objectivity and fairness in judging people on their ability, and situations on the facts and circumstances;
