The incumbent provides expert support to the DASW(AI2) by overseeing and supporting special projects that deliver critical capability to the warfighter.

This position is being filled under Direct Hire Authority (DHA) in accordance with FRN Vol. 82, No 216 dated 11/9/17, (Acq-Bus and Tech Mgmt) Section II.B.4.b, AcqDemo Direct Hiring Authority(DHA) for acquisition and non-acquisition positions involving 51% or more of time in direct support of acquisition positions within Business and Technical Management Professional Career path.

Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:

  • Lead comprehensive portfolio evaluations that assess system operational effectiveness across multiple dimensions, including procurement strategies, supply chain resilience, industrial base considerations, scalability requirements, and fielding capabilities.
  • Manage the organization's acquisition oversight process for assigned missions, portfolios, programs, and activities, advising Department's senior leadership on independent analysis and acquisition assessment of military and government mission threads, portfolios, capabilities, and systems.
  • Resolve complex acquisition issues while providing authoritative guidance and feedback on independent analysis results to OSW entities and military departments.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for analyzing interoperability across multiple missions and portfolios supported by OSW, ensuring that interoperability within and among U.S. coalition partners is satisfactorily addressed for all war systems.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

You may qualify at the NH-4 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-3 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates your ability to serve as the primary architect for coordinating and overseeing acquisition strategies for Joint capabilities, including mission engineering, analyses, and operational integration.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE MEMBERS: Federal agencies treat active duty service member as veterans, disabled veterans, and preference eligible, when they submit, as part of their application package, a "certification" of active service in lieu of a DD-214, indicating the service member is otherwise eligible and will be discharged or released within 120 days from the date of submission..
