Duties

Help
  • As a Construction Contract Manager is responsible to provide support to construction field offices in all phases of contract administration for construction projects administered by the District.
  • Act in an advisory capacity to assigned/resident offices.
  • Originate Job Order Contract scope, estimates, and negotiates agreements for the award of Job Order Contracts.
  • Coordinate with and carries out the directions of the District Engineer and Contracting officers in contract management matters, which have command interest.
  • During site visits, makes note of any deficiencies in the administration of the contracts and brings those to the attention of the project/resident/area engineer. Utilizing the technical expertise in the Corps provides solutions as appropriate.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Reviewing construction contract specifications and requirements: AND 2) Ensuring construction contracts for civil and/or military projects are within project scope; AND 3) Aiding in resolving contract problems and pricing issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Education

Note: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
