As a Lead International Trade Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Produces thorough, persuasive policy research and advocacy materials that reflect sound analytical thinking, and core issue analysis.
Creates advanced written communications and messaging regarding international trade agreement negotiations and compliance work and related trade policy and issues.
Plans for monitoring assigned trade agreements and identifying foreign trade barriers caused by non-compliance are developed and maintained.
Leads efforts to coordinate with U.S. and foreign government agencies and the business community to develop and implement U.S. trade policies, strategies, or programs.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Lead International Trade Specialist GS-1140-14, Full Performance Level (FPL) GS-14 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Completing assigned trade barrier cases, including reviewing, and assessing their applicability to specific trade agreements; and
Minimizing trade barriers identified via outreach to stakeholders and clients; and
Implementing trade policy goals, strategies, programs, and new initiatives; and
Identifying U.S. export objectives and equities for World Trade Organization accessions, including developing questions and drafting proposed commitments for acceding countries.
