Duties

Help

Serves as the Administrative Officer in a Flight Standards functional area. Incumbent is responsible for performing multiple and varying assignments under the general direction of the manager. May work as a team member on various projects. Responsible for providing or obtaining a variety of management services essential to the direction and operation of the organization.

The paramount qualifications required are detailed knowledge and understanding of management principles, practices, methods, and techniques, and skill in integrating management services with the general management of the organization. Incumbent is responsible for providing advice and guidance on varying fiscal and administrative matters to management.

Primarily concerned with providing or securing the resources or services needed to run the organization. The work involves direct assistance to the supervisor who has the primary responsibility for the direction of the organization established to accomplish the mission. As the office Administration Professional assists managers and staff in projecting staffing needs, including staffing levels and grades. and conducts work flow studies within the organization.

Coordinates with HR to obtain guidance as it relates to organizational related functions including pay and leave, and benefits. Reviews travel associated matters and the training program including initial and recurring. Responsible for managing the office logistics program including personal property, supplies and services, and acquisition activities, awards, OSHA, security and vehicle management.

Identifies, analyzes and recommends solutions to recurring problems and offers recommendations for improvements.

Interprets guidelines and provides management with advice and counsel on the operation of assigned programs and interrelationships of such programs. Most assignments are completed without direct supervision as established in the guidelines. Some discretion is given to select the most appropriate approach.

Work is frequently reviewed, typically at major milestones and at completion for policy compliance and alignment with other work activity. Supports the office assisting in monitoring available resources and ensures office administrative processes are functioning efficiently and effectively and in accordance with current guidance, policies, procedures and regulations.

Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-G (FG/GS 10-11) level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to FV-F (FG/GS 5/7/9) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is: Experience applying management principles, methods, and techniques to solve the problems of the organization. Experience with the general management of an organization. Experience developing and securing for the fiscal and business resources and services needed to manage and operate an organization. Applicants must provide sufficient information within resume work history to show how the specialized experience is met.

Education

Education substitution for FV-G: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR a combination of education and experience may be qualifying for this position. Education at the graduate level in an accredited college or university must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
