Duties

Help
  • Serve as a Housing Management Specialist in the Housing Division/Directorate of Public Works located at an Army garrison.
  • Provide technical guidance and office support to lower level housing management personnel.
  • Analyze and prepare statistical data for a variety of reports.
  • Provide advice to installation leaders on development of overall installation plans and procedures for barracks sustainment.
  • Provide oversight of all UH related activities including utilization and day-to-day operations.
  • Responsible for the broad management functions associated with the planning, management, administration, coordination and implementation of the housing management program(s).

  • This position is designated Tier 3, Non-Critical Sensitive, Moderate Risk and requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance Level as a condition of employment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.
  • This position is an inclement weather essential position and the incumbent is expected to make every attempt to report for duty on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.
  • Position may require after hours call-back for emergencies.
  • Incumbent may have to serve supervisory probationary period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Developing, implementing or analyzing Unaccompanied Housing policies, procedures and work plans; (2) Evaluating management, maintenance and operation of Unaccompanied Housing; and (3) Preparing, analyzing, presenting and briefing reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

OR

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Housing Management and/or Facility Management.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
