Ideal Candidate:
Ideal candidate will be a motivated, self-starter with the ability to comprehend a wide range of policies, principles, concepts, guidance, procedures, techniques, and methodologies pertaining to cyber program management.

The Future Operations (FUOPS) Directorate is seeking a motivated, self-starting Cyber Program Manager. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to comprehend and apply a wide range of policies, principles, and methodologies pertaining to cyber program management. In this role, you will analyze the current and future state of cyber operations to establish plans of action that improve efficiency and effectiveness with space, joint, and intelligence mission partners. You will leverage cyber doctrine and operational experience to evaluate existing forces, initiate feasibility studies, and ensure the development and integration of emerging cyber technologies into space operations. A key function will be to lead and participate in discussions, meetings, and special projects to develop, revise, and interpret policies that meet project needs while resolving conflicts through persuasive discussions with management and user representatives.

Background/Experience:
A comprehensive knowledge of governmental and agency cyberspace operations policies and standards applicable to unique USSF mission systems is required. Candidates must have in-depth knowledge of Department of War (DoW) policies for weapons systems and cyberspace operations, along with a wide range of cyberspace and IT principles, integration techniques, and testing methods. This background must include an understanding of current and emerging cyber technologies, including those with the potential for exploitation by adversaries, as well as proficiency in computer networking concepts, protocols, and network security methodologies. Knowledge of space mission systems, their technical architectures, and operating concepts is also essential, as is the proven ability to analyze the complexities of existing technology, initiate plans for enhancements, and provide management with sufficient technical and cost analysis to render informed judgments.

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Comprehensive knowledge of governmental and agency cyberspace operations policies and standards applicable to USSF unique mission systems. Knowledge of JCS and DoW policies for weapons systems and cyberspace operations.
2. Knowledge of a wide range of cyberspace and IT principles, concepts, integration techniques, and testing methods.
3. Knowledge of current and emerging cyber technologies to include technologies that have the potential for exploitation by adversaries. Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network methodologies.
4. Knowledge of space mission systems mission areas, technical architectures, and operating concepts. 5. Ability to analyze complexities of existing technology, review/revise/develop policy, initiate plans for enhancements, and provide management sufficient technical and cost analysis information, through, written documentation and oral briefings, to render informed judgments.
6. Working knowledge of governmental policies and regulations associated with handling classified and sensitive information.

  • Must be a U.S Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret /SCI security clearance.
  • Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
  • This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
  • Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
  • PCS / relocation funding is not authorized.
  • This position is designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): 30 days a year.
  • Cyberspace operations to include cyber intelligence experience is highly desirable.

Qualifications

The 2210 series has an individual occupational requirement that must be met and can be viewed here. There is no Group Coverage Qualification Standard for this series.
