Duties

Help
  • Offer guidance to employees concerning policies and procedures.
  • Organize and synchronize all work needs and projects to uphold the maintenance of patient care buildings.
  • Act as a facility specialist overseeing the operations, maintenance, repair, and improvement of the Medical Center's property facilities.
  • Develop initial project scopes, descriptions, and justifications for essential facility modifications.
  • Supervise contracted technical maintenance services to ensure the effective performance of major and highly complex systems.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Obtain and maintain Contracting Officer Representative (COR) certification within 12 months of hire.
  • Valid State Driver's License is required.
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons in accordance with Army Regulation 40-562, Chapters 3 and 4.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • This position requires you to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes includes managing Medical facilities, joint commissions audits, schedules, utilities management, safety, custodial services, maintenance contracts, and service orders; tracking program funding and providing feedback to the senior management on budget execution; and conducting inspections of contracted work and implementing any corrective actions, implementing Joint Commission duties to ensure compliance with medical facility standards through meticulous inspections and thorough audits.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
