Duties

Help

The Sales Associate provides world-class customer service to Marine Corps Exchange (MCX) patrons, with an emphasis on courtesy, professionalism, and customer loyalty. The incumbent serves as a brand ambassador for MCCS and MCX programs and supports daily retail operations in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing friendly, professional, and proactive customer service in all retail interactions.
  • Assisting customers with purchases, inquiries, and service recovery using an ¿I can do that¿ mindset.
  • Promoting MCX programs such as Military Star, Super Star Student, customer satisfaction surveys, and Keep It New.
  • Supporting store operations including cashiering, sales floor assistance, stockroom support, military clothing, and self-checkout operations.
  • Replenishing merchandise, maintaining planograms, setting promotional signage, and supporting visual merchandising standards.
  • Performing light housekeeping and maintaining backroom standards through the 5S program.
  • Utilizing retail equipment such as registers, RF scanners, handheld devices, printers, and labeling equipment.
  • Identifying and reporting potential loss prevention concerns.
  • Assisting with year-end inventory and other operational needs as assigned.
  • Adhering to safety, EEO, and sexual harassment prevention standards.

This is a mixed position requiring the ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs independently and heavier items with assistance.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in a customer service or sales-focused environment (preferred).
  • Cash handling, basic math, and register experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to understand and follow operating standards and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a high-performance retail environment.
  • Commitment to service excellence and teamwork.
