Duties

Help
  • You will develop and administer a comprehensive safety and occupational health program for the installation.
  • You will plan and conduct surveys of installation facilities and provide guidance on industrial and maintenance functions, hazardous materials handling and stored and conduct of recreation activities.
  • You will investigate and analyze mishaps and hazardous conditions to determine origin, causes and contributing elements.
  • You will review proposed construction /renovation projects to ensure safety, fire and industrial hygiene requirements are being met.
  • You will coordinate a comprehensive safety education program through formal training sessions, guest lectures and workshops.
  • You will serve as the installation Radiation Safety Manager.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
  • You may be subject to recall during emergency or event situations such as mishaps or incidents in regards to authority granted by appointment as a safety program manager.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector administering and coordinating a safety and occupational health program to include sub-programs (i.e., medical surveillance, radiation protection, hazardous material handling), coordinating safety training programs, AND investigating accident/mishaps for an organization.
