As a Supervisory Policy Analyst GS 0301 15, your typical work assignments may include:

  • Develop DHS-wide policies, programs, and planning to promote and ensure quality across all homeland security missions in connection with compliance monitoring activities related to the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and Team Telecom reviews.
  • Negotiate mitigation agreements between the U.S. Government and the parties to mitigate national security risks posed by transactions under review by CFIUS and Team Telecom.
  • Participate in the development and documentation of long-and short-range compliance efforts and makes recommendations on planning that can be undertaken within existing resource levels.
  • Engage with parties to foreign investment compliance issues and CFIUS and Team Telecom member agency counterparts to ensure that CFIUS and Team Telecom have the information required to reach compliance goals.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: To qualify for the GS-15, an applicant must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) that included: Performing risk mitigation and regulatory compliance monitoring activities in a national security context, such as the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), Team Telecom, Foreign Ownership Control or Influence (FOCI), export control enforcement, or sensitive data protection; Leading and managing a cross-disciplinary team; Collaborating with intra- and inter-agency partners; Developing and implementing effective risk mitigation and compliance monitoring strategies; Supporting policy development and decision making for senior leadership.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.

Time-in-grade: Current General Schedule (GS) federal employees, and those that have served in GS positions within the last 52 weeks, must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade, or a combination of the next lower grade level and an equivalent band in the federal service by the closing of this announcement.
