The United States Space Force (USSF) at Fort Detrick, Frederick, MD is searching for a Telecommunications Specialist for the 53 SOPS (NH-0391-02, GS-05/11 Equivalent).

Description:
Exciting opportunity to be a member of the DoD's newest branch: The United States Space Force!
We are looking for a few skilled and motivated SATCOM professionals to join our team. Prior Satellite Control experience is a plus but not a requirement: If you have a background in Satellite Communications, we can train you to be a controller. A TS clearance is also a requirement for this position and preference goes to those otherwise qualified candidates that have an active TS.

If you are prior service and miss the camaraderie that comes with working with a small team, this just might be the position you are looking for. You will be embedded with a group of approximately 12 Guardians working a Panama shift schedule. Speaking of shift work, differential pay is authorized for nights, weekends, and holidays. This position falls under the Acquisition Demo program, which can be confusing. BLUF: You enjoy the benefits of being a government employee without the constraints of the GS system.

Key Skills and Abilties:
1. Knowledge of Wideband SATCOM systems and operations sufficient to serve as a technical advisor to other satellite controllers.
2. Ability to configure and operate Wideband satellite systems, management, planning, and tools to ensure authorized levels of performance.
3. Skill in working with customers to assess needs, provide assistance, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
4. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
5. Ability to organize work, set priorities, and determine resource requirements, determine goals and strategies to achieve them, coordinate with other organizations, monitor progress, and evaluate outcomes.
6. Ability to identify problems and use sound judgment and decisions to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.
