Duties

Help
  • You will ensure the security, reliability and accessibility of Information Technology (IT) networks and data.
  • You will coordinate and conduct technical security testing, audits, and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
  • You will prepare, present briefings and or status updates in a clear manner to supervisors, and to Information System Owners and their staff throughout the life cycle of various information systems.
  • You will conduct information systems assessments as part of the risk management framework.
  • You will serve as liaison for the RDSA in meetings with high level officials and working groups within the Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD), and Intelligence Community (IC)organizations.

Qualifications

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:

1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.

3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.

4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

In addition to the competencies above, you will need specialized experience in the federal service or private or public sector at the GG/GS-13 grade level demonstrating the following such as:

1) Implementing and enforcing information system security requirements in accordance with applicable cyber security policy and guidance;

2) Developing and maintaining all formal cyber security policy and procedures, ensuring all agency personnel follow established policy and guidance;

AND

3) Maintaining enterprise information systems and overseeing all enterprise Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) and Computer Network Defense (CND) personnel to ensure cybersecurity policies and procedures are followed.

This position is designated as a Cyber Workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework
(DCWF) primary work role of (671) and, as a condition of employment, the incumbent of the position is required to maintain qualifications in accordance with DON Cyber Workforce Program requirements of SECNAV M-5239.2. This designation requires:

- The incumbent participates in continuous learning (CL) program as described in SECNAVINST 5239.20A and SECNAV M-5239.2. An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous learning must be documented in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.
- The incumbent must obtain the required credentials within 12 months of appointment and maintain credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for DCWF role of (671) proficiency level (Advanced). For more information, review SECNAV M-5239.2 Chapter 3, paragraph b (1) (g) 1. *Failure to meet a condition of employment may result in disciplinary and/or adverse action up to removal from Federal service.
