Duties

Help

As a Supvy Police Officer (Inspector), you will:

  • Direct, supervise, and administer the overall security protection program constituting the operations and management of the Police Services Branch, including a constant appraisal of operational efficiency for assuring the implementation of approved maximum-security criteria into the program supervised.
  • Conduct a continuing inspection program of police operations for assuring that protective services are properly integrated and coordinated across organizational lines of the WCF and equally applied to non-WCF occupants and customer agencies alike.
  • Write and review all operational regulations utilized by the Police Services Branch, including special post orders, and emergency or short term directives, assure overall comprehension and uniformity in application and strict enforcement in compliance with established maximum security criteria prescribed for interior and exterior protection programs, and extending to enforcement by all occupants and visitors frequenting the property and grounds under jurisdictional controls.
  • Formulate and develop personnel training needs, establishing and maintaining training requirements for all police personnel.
  • Formulate and maintain budgetary expenditures of the Police Services Branch to include training, uniform, materials, and equipment monies. Responsible for contracts for a procurement of such items as uniforms, materials and equipment for the Police Branch.

  • Possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license upon appointment OR within 90days of appointment (as appropriate) and maintain a valid license while you occupy the position.
  • Wear required safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include safety shoes, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves, masks, etc.
  • Weekend work and overtime, if applicable, will be scheduled when needed based on production requirements as determined by Management.
  • Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
  • Lautenberg Amendment: This position requires carrying a firearm. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition (Title 18, U.S.C., Section 922(g)(91).You will be ineligible to occupy this position if at any time you have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, unless you received a pardon or your conviction was expunged or set aside - Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory.
  • Complete or have previously completed the Mixed Basic/Uniformed Police Training Programcourse(s) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 Years of Age.
AND
Specialized Experience:

Tor the TR-12, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11/TR-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:

- Experience leading and supervising Police Operations, providing direction of operations and subordinate managers and employees. AND
- Developed operational regulations and policies directing Law Enforcement and security operations. AND
- Experience establishing and overseeing training requirements for security and law enforcement operations coordinating with internal and external training programs.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the TR-12, you must have been at the TR-11/GS-12level for 52 weeks.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.   • The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for workdays during the shutdown period.
  • This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury.   • SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background investigation and favorable adjudication. The background investigation process conducted by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is very thorough.
