Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee applicable to employees working at least 15 hours per week:

  • Available to MWR CYS Regular and FLEX (working a minimum of 15 hours)
  • First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees)
  • Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees)

  • Serves as a CYS Supervisory Program Specialist with responsibility for supervising CYS direct care staff (minimum of 8 ratios of children in a Child Development Center (Ages 0-5) or 6 ratios of children/youth in a School-Age Program or Youth.
  • Prepares work schedules to meet ratio and group size requirements. provides program oversight and accountability. Monitors and analyzes adult/participant ratio sheets to ensure proper staffing to ensure children are supervised at all times.
  • Assists with recruitment and selection of caregiving staff utilizing Army CYS Standard Position Descriptions. Supervises and evaluates employees based on established performance standards as required. Ensures timely submission of personnel actions.
  • Assists directors and training specialist to plan, coordinate, and implement activities and special events that meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs of children and youth.
  • Acts as Assistant Director or Director in their absence up to 20% of the time. May work in additional CYS facilities for the purposes of providing management oversight for evening or weekend openings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Childcare Tier 1 background investigation. The Crime Control Act must be successfully completed and maintained.
  • Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements and demonstrated on the job competency is required.
  • Travel to on and off post locations required.
  • Must have current health assessment which documents good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy to include annual influenza vaccinations.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:

(QUAL 1) Successful completion of a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study (at least 24 semester hours) in the fields appropriate to the position consistent with: Education must have been directly related to the position to be filled (general psychology/sociology courses are not qualifying).

-For positions in Youth Facilities: The education must have been in youth development, youth administration, education, home economics, physical education, elementary education, special education or other fields appropriate to the position to be filled such as directly related behavioral science.

OR

(QUAL 2) A combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in a subject matter field (24 semester hours) appropriate to the position (see above), plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the four-year course of study described above.

In addition to meeting one of the requirements above (QUAL 1 or QUAL 2), candidate must also possess all of the following:
1. Experience supervising or leading caregivers within child/youth facility-based programs.
2. Experience managing a classroom setting within child and youth programs.
3. Experience implementing and overseeing a structured child and youth program curriculum.
4. Demonstrated verbal communication skills gained through conducting training, delivering presentations, conducting meetings with parents and/or staff, or similar.

In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified"

Applicants with experience in the following areas may be considered Highly Preferred and sent to management first for consideration.

Highly Preferred candidates will possess at least one of the following:

  • Twelve (12) months experience working with youth ages 12-18
This experience must be clearly defined on your resume.

USAG-Humphreys is an hour and a half drive south of Seoul, 40 minutes south of Osan Air Base, and 15 minutes from the city of Pyongtaek. USAG Humphreys is not far from night life, restaurants, and shopping. The Humphreys Exchange and Commissary, Food court and restaurants offer typical American amenities.
