Duties

Help
  • Manage operational information systems, networks, and facilities to ensure electromagnetic spectrum support for users.
  • Develop resource requirements to support current and future operations.
  • Plan and assign subordinate work by determining schedules and priorities.
  • Ensure electromagnetic spectrum program objectives and performance requirements are supportable before operational use.
  • Establish electromagnetic spectrum configuration management policies and procedures to maintain hardware and software compliance.
  • Provide technical solutions on electromagnetic spectrum operations to resolve issues during high level meetings.
  • Serve as the commands computer C4 subject-matter expert to guide policy decisions and resource prioritization.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access for the duration of employment.
  • The position may require temporary duty (TDY) 30 days or less travel to various locations up to 25% of the time.
  • Position is subject to random drug testing. Incumbent must pass a drug test.
  • Employee must reside within the local area (50 miles) and able to report to work within an hour notice.
  • May be required to work overtime various hours, including weekends and holidays, with minimum notice.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year supervisory probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the education OR experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience in 1.) assisting with integrating multi-year planning guidance with current-year funding to support fiscal priorities, align resource strategies with organizational goals, and apply working knowledge of spectrum and bandwidth management to maintain a dependable mission-critical communications environment; AND 2.) analyzing enterprise IT systems to recommend solutions that improve performance and reliability and manage project lifecycles with tools (example: JIRA) while maintaining a shared Confluence knowledge base to support effective team collaboration; AND 3.) assist in analyzing quantitative and qualitative IT data to brief leadership on posture and modernization needs and translate technical details into clear business language to support informed decisions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
