Serve as a Work Leader for Public Safety Dispatchers.
Answer 911 calls, conducts emergency and non-emergency call processing using Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) consoles or CAD capability through NG911 modernization, if applicable, and or Land Mobile Radios (LMR).
Monitor Installation computerized fire and Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (ICIDS) alarm systems.
Refer non-emergent callers to appropriate civilian and governmental agencies.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Within 16 weeks, the incumbent will be required to demonstrate reasonable proficiency at locally established training guidelines on the use of E911, CAD, Land Mobile Radio (LMR), and station alerting software and equipment.
Position is subject to shift work where the incumbent is required to work an alternate, rotating work schedule, which requires an uncommon tour of duty (including nights, weekends and holidays).
Incumbent is required to work (mission essential) regardless of weather conditions or base closure and to report to the duty station at the regularly scheduled time.
Incumbent may be required to wear a uniform.
Incumbent must be a qualified typist. (40 wpm).
Incumbent must pass a pre-employment; fingerprint based criminal history investigation for any location that accesses Criminal Justice Information Systems.
The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain certification in: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Emergency Medical Dispatch based on the program standards at the location assigned.
Incumbent must complete the Department of Defense Telecommunicator I and II or equivalent based on the program standards at the location assigned.
Incumbent must complete State National Crime Information Center (NCIC) certification based on assigned location.
Incumbent must complete the National Incident Management System (NIMS) IS 100,300, 700, 800, and 907 courses.
The incumbent is responsible for attaining continuing dispatch education (CDE) requirements through in-service training that is offered locally and pass in accordance with predetermined course requirements.
