As Deputy Executive Assistant Commissioner, Operations Support, you will assist the Executive Assistant Commissioner, Operations Support (EAC, OS) in overseeing an organization that provides tactical and strategic support to various offices within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), including Field Operations, U.S. Border Patrol, Air and Marine Operations, and International Trade. A critical aspect of the role is securing the nation's borders at and between official CBP Ports of Entry against criminal threats.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing complex law enforcement technical and professional services to ensure responsive, consistent, and accountable operational support.
Directing the organization to implement the strategic vision for joint operations, fostering synergy among Border Patrol, Field Operations, and Air and Marine Operations, and leading critical joint law enforcement activities.
Providing executive direction to the CBP Watch, ensuring real-time awareness of law enforcement operations and maintaining communication with front-line personnel.
Assisting in the oversight of International Affairs law enforcement operations, global border security, and anti-terrorism efforts.
Providing direction on the application of the use of force policy for all law enforcement personnel.
Assisting in the oversight of CBP's Laboratories and Scientific Services that support trade enforcement and analysis of illicit and controlled substances.
Directing an organization that strengthens CBP's operational posture and enhances mission execution through integrated and long-term planning.
Serving as a ranking executive member in CBP, participating in boards, committees, and panels, and potentially chairing CBP internal committees and boards in place of the EAC, OS.
Providing leadership and direction for the CBP Operations Support workforce through subordinate Deputy Assistant Commissioners and other senior executives, including exercising authority for personnel actions.
