The position involves the performance of non-supervisory office clerical duties to include but not limited to word processing requiring a working knowledge of general office automation software that is typically performed on a PC and requires the skills of a qualified typist.

Duties include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Performs work involving the collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of CBOC operations.
  • Assists in the reporting of data/statistical results of program/project studies such as open encounters, missed opportunities, and no-show rates.
  • Organizes computerized data sets and retrieves computerized data from VSSC, HR/MSS, VISTA, and CPRS.
  • Reviews documents, reports, and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate.
  • Investigates and/or analyzes problems, issues, or program requirements.
  • From information gathered, incumbent drafts proposals and plans of actions. Completes weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for the service line.
  • The incumbent serves as the training coordinator for the service line.
  • Provides orientation for CBOC personnel, management, supervisors, ancillary service employees, residents, and students in the use of computer programs and coordinates introductions/meetings with other service lines in the facility.
  • Evaluates present practices and procedures with the overall view of how effectively current goals are being met and how services might be improved through changes in practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyzes procedures, methods, reporting requirements to eliminate duplication, improve procedures, reduce waste, and improve methods of operation.
  • The ADPAC is responsible for trouble shooting computer and printer problems that arise. Administers critiques for computer down time, and implementation of contingency plans.
  • Incumbent is delegated the duty of semi-annual security reviews and requests all computer access/menus for CBOC employees.
  • The incumbent performs the full range of clerical and administrative support work of the office.
  • Sets up and maintains logs showing the status of actions and correspondence.
  • Receives visitors and telephone calls to the office regarding the specialty areas supported and determines the nature of requests and directs callers to appropriate staff, or personally provides the desired information involving routine or procedural matters.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 04/06/2026.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:

  • Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Providing administrative and analytical support to healthcare clinical service including workload data analysis, credentialing documentation, timekeeping, procurement coordination, and accreditation support.

Physical Requirements: The work is basically sedentary, but a great deal of walking to all parts of the healthcare facility is required since the incumbent will be working with a variety of clinical and administrative services.
