Duties

Help
  • Assist in evaluating and analyzing a broad range of data, research, programs, and metrics addressing the needs and challenges of service members and their families.
  • Work closely with multiple stakeholders across the DoD to ensure accurate collection and representation of data across the aforementioned programs.
  • Identify process improvement areas for data and/or research.
  • Inform leadership of potential program improvements while taking into consideration Executive Orders, directives, and regulations.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding data collection, research, and evaluation on multiple programs with a specific focus on applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques concerning the effectiveness of program operations.
  • Work with data files across numerous programs to conduct statistical and informational analysis.

In order to qualify, you must meet the expereince requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes analyzing data to address the needs and challenges of service members and their families, ensuring compliance with all DoD and federal research requirements, working with stakeholders to ensure accurate collection and/or representation of data across programs relating to service members and their families, conducting analysis of current and/or past data trends to promote the success of current and future initiatives, and identifying potential problem areas to propose solutions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
