Duties

Help
  • Define, develop, and implement policy and process guidance to ensure the Command's stand up and compliance with the DoD Insider Threat Program, from initial operational capability thru program sustainment.
  • Collaborate with other security and intelligence entities to define, implement, and optimize user activity monitoring for the purpose of detecting and analyzing insider threats.
  • Integrate and centrally analyze information to conduct counterintelligence and criminal investigations into insider threats, and to report findings and recommend mitigation actions to leadership.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to address potential threats and refine organizational policies to strengthen security posture.
  • Perform administrative and technical duties as a first-level supervisor, which involves directing and coordinating the daily work of the personnel in the branch.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • May be recalled to duty, may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays, and may be required to work overtime.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft.
  • Must meet NSA personnel security requirements outlined in NSA/CSS Policy 5-1.
  • Must pass a Counterintelligence scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated on pre-appointment and remain subject to random polygraph examinations for the duration of employment if access to a Special Access Program is required.
  • This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
  • This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe one-year of specialized experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience would be demonstrated by 1) Advise on key directives and regulations to establish the requirements for agencies to integrate and analyze threat-related information; 2) Define and develop processes and standards for the successful development and implementation of an Insider Threat program; 3) Communicate complex findings and justify interpretations of regulations and policies to a variety of audiences, such as senior leadership, legal teams, and other security professionals; 4) Represent senior leaders at Insider Threat forums for the purpose of improving overall program requirements, standards and inspectable programs.

This position is in the Supervision/Management Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure.
