Duties

Help

  • Stores Technical and Mass Property (STAMP) Analyst: Collects, verifies accuracy of, and databases mass and physical property data for state-of-the-art equipment/stores carried on Air Force weapons systems.
  • STAMP Maintenance and Sustainment: Maintains accurate and up-to-date weapon systems/munitions mass and physical property data in the STAMP database and ensures the data is readily available and accessible in a format suitable by engineers and technical managers for further analysis/technical studies in support of the AFSEO mission.
  • STAMP Data Specialist: Ensures the sufficiency of customer supplied mass and physical property data to support the AFSEO Evaluate Compatibility and Technical Assistance processes.
  • Participates in process improvement initiatives.
  • Provides suggestions and recommendations on process changes/improvements to improve the efficiency of STAMP.

  • May be required to work around munitions during information/data gathering process of assigned duties
  • May be exposed to outside (test range and/or flight line) areas with related high noise, extreme weather, conditions to include hot/cold temperatures, rain and wind during evaluation of test scenarios
  • May be required to wear protective clothing as conditions dictate
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative Officer Series 0343 located here.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 3 years of general experience, 1 year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-04 level or equivalent in other pay systems. General experience analyzing and evaluating quantitative or qualitative effectiveness of program operations in meeting established goals and objectives; developing cost analyses of projects or performing cost benefit or economic evaluations of current or projected programs; and advising on the distribution of work among positions and organizations and the appropriate staffing levels and skills mix. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices related to reporting of mass properties
    measurements.
  2. Knowledge of and skill in process improvement initiatives within the organization.
  3. Skill in providing technical advice in terms of oral and written briefings, reports, and recommendations to senior leadership.
  4. Skill in developing interpersonal relationships, maintaining good working relationships, and working cooperatively as a member of a team.
  5. Skill in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, and technical data.
  6. Skill in identifying and analyzing complex technical problems and developing innovative solutions.
  7. Ability to plan, organize, and re-prioritize work to meet changing deadlines.
IDEAL CANDIDATE: An ideal candidate would have experience with munitions, pods, AME, or other aircraft store equipment. They would also have experience in reviewing technical documentation (Tech Orders, Drawing, technical documents) and a basic knowledge of Mass Properties concepts.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
