Responsible for scanning and reporting compliance of Computer Tasking Orders, Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IA VA), Information Assurance Vulnerability Bulletins (IAVB) in the On-line Compliance Reporting System (OCRS).
Identifies automation security problems and requirements through studies, analysis, and research.
Ensure the security compliance and operational authorization of organizational information systems according to established government cybersecurity frameworks.
Participates in system changes and modifications to ensure the development of related system security policies and measures.
Perform periodic security assessments of medical devices; this involves physically relocating equipment (lifting up to 50 lbs.) of various sizes to a designated scanning area and utilizing an isolated network VLAN to conduct approved scan types.
The incumbent deploys computer security policies and standards to meet the MTF’s information assurance objectives and ensure the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of the agency’s Information Technology (IT) assets.
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
The first year of employment is a trial period and all term employees must serve a 1-year trial period.
Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.

Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds is required.
This position is required to work uncommon tours of duty hours such as, on-call, working either fixed or rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and/or holidays.

Basic Requirement for IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC):
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: monitoring network operations to prevent unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data; and conducting security vulnerability testing of installed systems to identify system vulnerabilities; and determining hardware and software compliance with security configurations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: solving complex or sensitive problems by developing and proposing strategic alternatives; identifying possible conflicts and shared benefits; helping team anticipate problems and identifying and evaluating potential sources of information; providing feedback and coaching to others to help solve problems; engaging appropriate stakeholders when developing solutions in order to understand and incorporate multiple perspectives and needs; evaluating the effectiveness of decisions and adjusting future decisions as appropriate.

Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree from an accredited or pre-accredited institution in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, three full years of graduate education from an accredited or pre-accredited institution that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks.
