As an ASOC Interface and Procedural Control Instructor, GS-2101-11, you will:
Serve as a Procedural Controller and Interface Control Technician Instructor. Determine appropriate training requirements by analyzing unit training objectives, missions, combat readiness reports, evaluation reports and directives. Develop local instructional standards, training plans, lesson plans, tests, and other training materials. Select instructional media which best supports training objectives. Establish, develop, validate and maintain unit computer systems training programs. Evaluate student academic and positional performance. Counsel students, evaluate student potential, make determinations on readiness for evaluation, and recommend military reclassification actions, as appropriate. Provide remedial training and develop non-traditional instructional techniques to facilitate PC and ICT progress. Evaluate training program effectiveness. Perform task analysis, and student load factor analysis in support of the training program and participate in cost analysis of the program.
Manage all technical aspects of datalink interfaces in order to provide an accurate and consolidated air picture in the ASOC. Serve as the Link Unit Manager. Assist in the performance of all datalink operations. As the Subject Matter Expert on all ASOC Tactical Datalink equipment, troubleshoot problems and provide advice on any operational or equipment concerns. Be proficient in establishing and initializing crypto and associated radios. Direct and supervise the resolution of data conflicts, and coordinate the entry and exit of units in the tactical interface.
Serve as unit standardization/evaluation evaluator to ensure Combat Mission Readiness (CMR) of crewmembers. Perform analysis and evaluate crew positions as applicable to determine degree of proficiency and adherence to crew procedures and crew coordination requirements. Conduct scheduled and unscheduled positional, written, objectivity, and supplemental evaluations/examinations. Instruct, verify and certify the qualifications of individuals nominated for Standardization Evaluation Examines (SEE) upgrade. Subsequent to crew operations, conduct debriefing and prepare report.
Serve as mission crewmember in the PC or ICT position as appropriate. Participate crewmember pre-mission coordination briefings to relay appropriate aircrew information to crewmembers prior to executing mission and to ensure complete understanding of air plan operations. Analyze the Operational Tasking for Link Operations (OPTASKLINK), Operational Orders (OPORD), Exercise Orders (EXORD), Airspace Coordination Orders (ACO), Air Missile Defense Plan (AMDP), Communications Plan (COMPLAN), Tactical Operational Data (TACOPDAT), Special Instructions (SPINS), and Air Tasking Orders (ATO), extract pertinent information, and incorporate data into mission execution. Provide procedural control of assigned aircraft in the Area of Responsibility (AOR). Locate, identify, and track aircraft assigned for control. Provide navigational assistance, airspace coordination and flow of air traffic control management to ensure safety of flight requirements for all participants. Coordinate with external agencies to ensure correct execution of airspace control. Notify senior staff and/or Battle Staff of any suspected emergency situation or event and ensure emergency action procedures are accomplished during in-flight and ground emergencies. Ensure a recognizable air picture is developed and maintained which is utilized to execute close air support operations in an area of operation. Develop, maintain, and optimize data displays for use by all internal and external C2 customers. Interface with external agencies i.e., Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) cell, and design, develop, configure, and optimize tactical digital information links to produce a cohesive single integrated air picture to be sent to internal and external C2 customers. Use coordinate reference systems. Display, record, and distribute operational information. Monitor internal and external voice and data communications to maintain and disseminate situational awareness. Configure and operate Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Very High Frequency (VHF), High Frequency (HF) radios, for internal and external voice and data communication networks. Receive, transmit, and relay encoded and decoded messages from other ground or airborne Command and Control (C2) agencies. Recognize, report, and take appropriate action to assist aircraft in distress. Monitor heading, airspeed, altitude, position and plots on map. Monitor voice and data telling source and ensure that the track data is entered into the computer. Monitor sensor data which may correlate and take appropriate action to effect correlation. Inform external agencies of external tracks.

For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
Controllers must meet an annual Class III flight physical.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 36 months experience, education, or training arranging or procuring transportation for personnel, cargo or freight. Experience in non-routine pre and post auditing of freight bills, bills of lading, and personnel transportation vouchers. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems. *For positions requiring supervisory functions; experience which included responsibility for the supervision and management of personnel.
Education
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in fields listed below leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university, meets the GS-5 level requirements.
