Help
  • You will manage technical aspects of repair availabilities to verify contractor performance, and serve as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
  • You will conducts material condition surveys and inspections of ship's hull, machinery and electrical systems and components.
  • You will plan, develop and work estimate work packages, providing formal and comprehensive contract specifications.
  • You will review and evaluate ship voyage repair requests and regulatory body deficiencies, and coordinate resolution with the ship's applicable administrative command.
  • You will plan and schedule work based on ship voyage repair requirements and operating schedule.
  • You will identify and establish contracts with local commercial ship repair contractors and vendors to stay abreast of current technology and service capabilities.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is considered Key/Non-Combat Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support of the expeditionary requirements in other than combat or combat support situations.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in budgeting and accounting procedures and policies for ship operations and sponsor reimbursable items; knowledge of qualitative and quantitive techniques in analyzing, measuring and productivity of management processes and programs related to ships and projects; experience in conducting detailed evaluations, analyzing findings and recommendations on complex functions and processess; and experience in reviewing and implementing policies and procedures to improve ship readiness and operational.

Position Requirements: Shipyard and shipboard work is a requirement of the position where the incumbent may be required to climb, crawl, and bend to accomplish shipboard inspections in a shipyard environment.

A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
