About the Position: Serves as Senior Program Manager and Technical Advisor to the USASOC Capability Manager -PSYOP. Exercises responsibility for planning, coordinating, and providing intensive management for all actions related to the integration of doctrine, organizations, training, leader development, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, facilities, and policy (DOTMLPF-P) domains within PSYOP and the testing, training and fielding of HQ, USASOC chartered PSYOP programs.

Duties

Help
  • Performs duties as the program manager for the PSYOP capability management program.
  • Performs Program Systems Management as appropriate within Army and or SOCOM systems.
  • Oversees the preparation of PSYOP sustainment and modernization plans and their integration into the current and future force.
  • Performs full range of supervisory duties to include setting priorities and schedules.

  • TDY Travel may be up to 25%.
  • May, on occasion, exceed the normal 8 hour workday and cause short notice overtime requirements.
  • This position may require you to work in a field environment and work in all types of weather conditions and wear personal protective equipment and clothing.
  • This position will require a one year Term trail period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized experience:One year of specialized experience in
1) provide effective and timely advice with analytical services, staff advice, and assistance concerning work on doctrine, organization, training, material, leadership, personnel proponency, policy and education;
2) coordinate with multiple commands, program managers (PM), and other combat/capability developers.
3) Experience working in large organizations with multifunctional staff such as at the Army Service Component Command, Army Command, Headquarter of the Army, United States Special Operations Command or equivalent service command levels
4) participating in Experimentation/Wargames/Campaign of Learning events such as a Psychological Operations(PSYOP) Subject Matter Expert;
5) communicating orally and in writing to disseminate information and provide advisory service related to fielding and training of PSYOP and equipment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-13.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
