Duties

Help
  • Serves as an expert Intelligence Research Specialist analyzing global food security and humanitarian emergencies, while supporting analysis on forced displacement and migration issues.
  • Chairs or participates in interagency working groups to develop intelligence analyses and priorities on global food security and humanitarian emergencies impacting U.S. foreign policy.
  • Provides oral briefings and written products to senior officials and serves as liaison between key INR staff and counterparts and experts in other bureaus.
  • Serves as the Department lead officer providing intelligence support on global food security issues and complex humanitarian emergencies.
  • Directly advises the Assistant Secretary, Deputy Assistant Secretary and other senior officials and staff on issues reported in intelligence information and assessments.

Qualifications

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 

  • Experience analyzing and advising on global food security and humanitarian emergencies across related disciplines.
  • Experience collaborating with the Intelligence Community to develop assessments, set priorities, and provide briefings on global food security and humanitarian emergencies impacting U.S. foreign policy.
  • Experience briefing senior policymakers and analyzing global food security and humanitarian emergencies.
  • Experience leading interagency groups to set intelligence priorities and analyze global food security and humanitarian emergencies.

There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.

  • Knowledge of field dynamics in overseas intelligence program implementation.
  • Skill in leading interagency groups and coordinating intelligence priorities.
  • Ability to translate field data into actionable intelligence.
