Duties

Help

As the Supervisory Administrative Officer (Chief of Staff), your responsibilities would include, but would not be limited to:

  • Providing administrative, strategic, and technical advice to Division leadership and staff.
  • Providing administrative direction and guidance necessary for accomplishing the work of the Division. This includes supervising subordinate employees, overseeing administrative services that support the division, and providing direction and guidance to Division employees and others on a variety of topics.

  • Ability to manage multiple administrative functions including Division strategic planning; budget planning, formulation, and execution; human capital resource management; procurement and property management; policy and procedure management; records management, human resources and performance management; and general administration.

  • Knowledge of Division goals and objectives, the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones, and methods of evaluating Division performance and accomplishments.
  • Directing, assigning and reviewing the work of subordinate employees to ensure that they provide the necessary logistical, analytical, and administrative support to the teams conducting Division reviews, evaluations, and inspections in support of producing published reports or other products.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the GS-15 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-14 grade level obtained in the public/private sector. (Specialized experience is paid or unpaid experience which has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.) This experience must include mastery skills in: Advanced management and organizational principles and practices along with a comprehensive knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting regulations, guidelines and process, and thorough knowledge of facilities planning, acquisition, and management process to prepare long-range (5 year) and short-range planning guidance in accordance with broad agency program policies and objectives; Directing and having oversight of an essential component within the Division providing analytical and administrative support services.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade level (or equivalent).
