Duties

Help
  • Manage the full cycle of accounts payable transactions, ensuring strict compliance with all applicable regulations, including the Financial Management Regulation (FMR) and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Receive, review, and verify invoices, vouchers and supporting documents for accuracy against corresponding purchase orders or contracts.
  • Schedule and execute prompt payments to vendors through checks, electronic transfers, or automated systems.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and identify and resolve any discrepancies and ensure timely resolution and address vendor inquiries about payments.
  • Prepare and inputs journal vouchers into the financial management system to ensure accurate recording of financial transactions within the general ledger.
  • Conducts detailed monitoring and reconciliation of accounts, comparing data between disparate sources and reports to proactively identify and perform in-depth analyses of adjustments.
  • Determines pay, process payroll changes, and complete related reports for civilian employees adhering strictly to Defense Civilian Personnel System (DCPS) and Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) guidelines.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • This position requires Financial Management Level 1 certification
  • Immunization screening is required. Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using automated systems to enter and/or process data, reviews documents for accuracy and completing corrective actions to resolve discrepancies in pay, leave accounts, contacts travel etc. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).


Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
