Duties

Help

  • Review and analyze proposed staffing and budget levels for divisions and offices throughout the Corporation, and prepare briefings, including appropriate recommendations, for senior management officials.
  • Develop policy guidance and procedural instructions and provide direction and guidance to FDIC divisions/offices on the development of required plans and budget and staffing requests, the preparation and submission of reports on budget utilization and operational performance, and requirements for accounting for their operational costs.
  • Analyze differences between budgets and actual expenditures and prepare reports of results for senior management, which explain the causes of the variances and project the impacts on, and sufficiency of, annual budgets.
  • Lead or participate in complex workload analysis and work measurement studies, and present results and recommendations to senior management officials.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 13 level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience in all of the following areas: (1) Performing financial studies/analyses of cost management programs; (2) Developing or analyzing staffing and budget requirements; (3) Monitoring execution of an annual operating budget; and (4) Performing staffing and operational analysis used for reporting results and recommendations to senior management.

Salary reflects a pay cap for this position of $257,500.
