Duties

Help
  • Refine CBRNE doctrine, policy and deliberate plans in support of SOF mission requirements.
  • Provide consultation to the Joint, Interagency, Inter-governmental and Multi-national CBRNE community.
  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and implement all matters of CBRNE policy and doctrine for the Command as well as provides significant contribution and influence to joint special operations organizations' policies.
  • Manage the CBRNE training program including developing Statements of Work (SOW) for government agencies and contractors, organizing sensitive training programs, and scheduling New Equipment Training (NET).
  • Responsible for conducting a wide variety of analysis and evaluation relating to the planning, programming, budgeting, management and execution of command resources as they relate to multimillion-dollar mission areas.
  • Provides oversight and works to ensure consistent interpretation among Command personnel, its associated agencies and directorates of pertinent doctrine, policy and plans.

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 11.
  • A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time.
  • Required to wear a pager and available for short notice recall.
  • Must maintain Radiation Protection Officer, HAZMAT Awareness, HAZMAT Technician, and HAZMAT Operations certifications.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Orchestrating Chemical Biological Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) deliberate plans, doctrine, policies, agreements, and Memorandums of understanding (MOUS) as they pertain to the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and associated agencies, 2) Serving as the training program manager for the CBRN training program developing statements of work, organizing sensitive training programs, and scheduling New Equipment Training (NET) for Soldiers who are introduced to new and emerging technologies, 3) Administering the Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) maintenance program and liaise with Special Operation units to share technology and applicable designs of emerging CBRN devices and 4) Providing direct oversight of the CBRN to manage the department's financial management system, program objectives, and applicable regulations, guidelines, and directives.
