Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Considerable standing and bending required when performing work at bench. Testing work requires bending, stooping, and lifting various components weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works inside well lighted, heated, and ventilated shop area. Exposed to possibility of serious burns caused by electrical shock, RF energy, hot components, and to microwave radiation. Subject to cuts, bruises and scrapes from handling equipment and tools. Subject to travel as senior mechanic "as required" to repair and/or install electronic systems.

Hill Air Force Base provides worldwide engineering and logistics management for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, A-10 Thunderbolt II, and the Minuteman III ICBM, and performs depot maintenance of the F-16, A-10, and C-130 Hercules aircraft. The base is located between Ogden and Salt Lake City. The area is known for year round activities, including skiing, hiking, boating, extreme sports, fishing and hunting, with four distinct seasons, low humidity and moderate snow fall in the valley.
