Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. Duties

Help
  • Act as a SIGINT analytic expert for highly unique special operations targets of operational and intelligence interest to the commands supported requirements.
  • Conduct Intelligence research, analysis, evaluation, coordination, and liaison duties within a regional or functional area.
  • Serve as senior SIGINT expert analyst for geographical areas or highly specialized functional areas, responsible for solving difficult and complex analytical problems.
  • Interface with national and theater level counterparts to maintain situational awareness and develop strategies to accomplish sensitive unique SIGINT requirements.
  • Attend conferences/meetings held by the various governmental and military intelligence agencies in furtherance of the information needs of the command.
  • Assist in the development of organizational training programs, monitors and evaluates curriculum delivery and provides target related briefings as required.
  • Prepare and edit SIGINT products such as briefings, intelligence assessments, SOF feasibility assessments, intelligence estimates, and/or annexes to operational orders.
  • Maintain intelligence databases for functional areas or specific countries in order to support no notice and short notice contingency operations.
  • Evaluate correctness and accuracy of source data that might affect contingency plans and training of SIGINT analysts.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo a counter-intelligence scope polygraph.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret {TS) security clearance based on a TS investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation {SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information {SCI).
  • Requires Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel 30% of the time to various CON US and OCONUS locations. This may require travel on military aircraft, ships and vehicles.
  • Subject to short notice recall. Must reside within a SO-mile radius of duty location.
  • May be required to work uncommon tours of duty hours, working either fixed or rotating shift which may include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled.

Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:

1) Experience applying current intelligence policies, directives, and procedures to support operational decision-making. AND
2) Experience applying Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) analysis and policy frameworks to resolve difficult and complex analytical problems. AND
3) Experience collaborating, coordinating, and deconflicting across the Intelligence Community (IC), and building and sustaining strong professional
partnerships throughout the IC.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS -12)

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
