Duties

Help

DUTY 1: Develops and coordinates National Intelligence Community, Combined, Joint, and Air Force Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) doctrine, guidance and policies.

DUTY 2: Lead AU ISR Subject Matter Expert (SME) and ISR Researcher: Provides intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) subject matter expertise to all schools, courses and organizations within Air University.

DUTY 3: Develops ISR curricula for lectures, platform instruction and seminar facilitation for courses throughout the Air University continuum of education.

DUTY 4: Senior Developmental Education Instructor: Ensures appropriate knowledge, comprehension, and application levels of learning desired learning objectives {DLOs) are established and reached regarding ISR education in each of AU's schools and courses.

  • Overtime may be required as workload demands and in some cases with no-notice due to urgency of time-sensitive matters.
  • Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Travel by regularly scheduled commercial or military conveyance in accordance with Joint Travel regulations may be required in performance of temporary duty.

Qualifications

This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include thorough knowledge of the concepts governing the National Intelligence Community, Combined, Joint, and Air Force Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) doctrine, guidance and policies. Must be extremely knowledgeable of the terminologies, methodologies, and research and analytical techniques as applied to highly complex assignments in the ISR doctrine, operations, tactics, procedures, tasking, collection, processing/production, exploitation and dissemination at all levels of the US Intelligence Community. Must demonstrate a capability for creative thinking and resourcefulness and have the confidence and ability to conduct analysis to focus on making authoritative decisions and initiates actions to improve ISR doctrine and policy throughout the development and coordination stages of the intelligence community. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

  1. Knowledge of complex intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) tactics, techniques, procedures, doctrine, capabilities/limitations, technologies and tools as well as their use in support of operational planning, crisis action planning, and Warfighting from the National Intelligence Community, Combined, Joint and Air Force levels. Knowledge of instructional procedures, techniques and tools used in developing educationally sound lesson plans.
  2. Knowledge of wargaming functions including a broad range of scenario development, opposing force doctrine, and ISR principles, policies, and practices of warfare to include: national security strategy, national military strategy, deliberate planning, crisis action planning, force structure, command relationships and general deployment systems. Skill in facilitating educational seminars to include guiding seminars through practical exercises.
  3. Skill in developing and presenting written and oral communications and educational lectures, briefings. Ability to coordinated and present complex concepts, doctrine, and procedures to senior staff members at every level of the US Intelligence Community
  4. Ability to effectively present course material, achieving desired learning objectives.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely and with technical accuracy.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
