Duties

Help

DUTY 1 - Directly assists the commander/director in the management of all administrative support program functions. Administers programs and serves as the primary source of information. The incumbent is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and deposition of required administrative reports and other correspondence.

DUTY 2 - Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs. Ensures unit program compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and squadron commander directives.

DUTY 3 - Serves as a unit liaison to the military and civilian personnel offices. Assists the commander/director in the performance of administrative functions associated with the supervision of military and civilian employees (i.e.coordinating personnel assignments, promotions, and performance evaluation products, etc.).

DUTY 4 - Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization. Develops, establishes, updates, and maintains office procedures and records/files of various types to ensure effective and efficient operation of the office. Provides advice and guidance to staff in the organization on administrative, clerical, and procedural requirements.

  • All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
  • Position is designated critical-sensitive and incumbent must be able to obtain and retain a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
  • PCS expenses WILL NOT be paid IAW JTR and Air Force Regulations
  • This posn is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
  • Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guide
  • Incumbent is subject to initial and random drug testing.
  • Work may occasionally require travel away from normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions.

This is a GG-06 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-06 duties for the "Technician/Administrative Support" work category are at the "Entry/Developmental" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-06 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Administers programs and serves as the primary source of information. The incumbent is responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and deposition of required administrative reports and other correspondence. Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs. Ensures unit program compliance with regulations, laws, policies, and squadron commander directives. Serves as a unit liaison to the military and civilian personnel offices. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization.
2. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
3. Knowledge of security practices for ensuring the safeguarding of classified information in a complex security environment.
4. Skill in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems.
5. Ability to gather, analyze and present facts, communicate effectively, using tact and courtesy and posses the ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
6. Ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
