Duties

Help

Functions as a member of the Facilities Management Department, Administration Division, Federal Bureau of Prisons(BOP), Central Office, Washington, D.C.

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Central Office buildings and structures.

Performs a wide range of general maintenance duties in the Central Office buildings. The Central Office building includes 490,000 gross square feet and houses approximately 2,000 employees.

Responsible for various phases associated with the construction, repair, maintenance, and renovation of buildings and related structures, grounds, fixtures, and utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, cement work, painting, welding, roofing, electric, HVAC, and other related trades.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements.

Applicants must have had sufficient training and experience to show their ability to perform the duties of the position.

Qualifications will be determined by comparing your application to the responses to the Applicant Assessment Questions against the guidelines found in the Job Qualification System for Trades and Labor Occupations, WS-4749 Series.
