Duties

Help
  • Orders stocked medical items via point-of-use systems such as PYXIS or OMINICELL or utilizing a hand held terminal (HHT).
  • Receives and unloads supplies from warehouse deliveries, prime vendor or vendors via credit card purchase.
  • Conducts periodic inventory or cyclic counts of point-of-use systems and/or shelves to determine usage and to enter orders via point-of-use interface system or the HHT.
  • Unloads, receives and inspects incoming material, verifying against various associated documents.
  • Maintains activities Par Replenishment stockage, keeping organized and properly labeled and assisting activities in making timely modifications.

  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • This position is designated as mission essential. The incumbent will be required to ensure continuity of Tripler Army Medical Center's operations during ALL hazard's emergency situations.
  • This position requires a pre-employment physical.
  • This position requires heavy lifting up to 70lbs.
  • This position may require an immunization screening to determine inoculation for Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR), Hepatitis B series, Chickenpox titer and skin test screening for Tuberculosis (TB).
  • The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Forklift Operator License within 120 days of employment.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position works on an alternate work schedule. The incumbent will be assigned to rotating shifts between 0600 - 1430 and 1330 - 2200, seven days a week, to include evenings, holidays, weekends, and early and late shifts.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Materials Handler (FLO) ~ without more than normal supervision. Operating automated guided vehicles in mechanized warehouses; stacking, moving, and arranging items on pallets; and ordering, receiving and storing supplies - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
  • Physical Efforts: Continual standing on hard floors for extended periods of time, bending, stooping and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions is required. Lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 70 pounds is required. The heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment, push carts, or with assistance from co-workers. Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls while driving, turning, starting, and stopping the fork lift truck and raising, lowering, and tilting the loads being moved. Strain is caused by the vibration of the fork lift truck.
  • Working Conditions: Work is performed in climate-controlled areas, storage rooms, etc. Normally is not exposed to extreme heat or cold conditions. Work is done inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty or poorly lighted. May be regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls, injury from falling stock, physical handling of moderately heavy items or moving materials handler equipment. May be exposed to dust, dirt, and to high noise levels. When working around hazardous materials, may be subject to exposure from hazards, flammables, or chemical fumes. Work may require wearing protective clothing such as hard-hats, steel-toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, safety glasses, back supports and harnesses/belts.
