Duties

Help

  • Manages Mission Assurance (MA) Program per DoDI 3020.45 with responsibility for implementation of wing-wide installation response and readiness.
  • Assists as a member of the working groups/teams on the development of improvements to the projects/processes/procedures related to the organizational mission.
  • Actively participates in special projects and performs special assignments related to the organization. Participates in additional duties to cover down on all Mission Assurance tasking, ensuring the final product or service meets stated objectives, addresses pertinent issues, and reflects an understanding of the impact of the implementation.
  • Incumbent will establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management, functional staff offices, and organizational counterparts at various levels in response to special projects, processes and directions, funding issues, policy changes, and the impact of these changes.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience is having the ability to provide installation response and readiness through the management of the MA, CARM, COOP, Treaty Compliance, Plans, SAPM, exercise planning, and Force Readiness activities for the wing.

NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Ideal Candidate (statement is placed within the announcement): - 1-2 years of experience in installation Crisis Action Team (CAT) management desired.
- 1-2 years' experience with exercise planning with the Department of Defense desired.
- 1-2 years of experience with Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) processes desired.
- 1 to 2 years' experience in developing or overseeing military mission assurance and or readiness exercises
- 1 to 2 years' experience in communicating verbally or in writing and briefing senior leaders

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of a range of AF functions, instillation exercises, policies, procedures, practices, concepts, and theories related to the mission assurance. Ability to organize and provide high level staff guidance as it relates to mission assurance, critical asset risk management, continuity of operations, and force readiness. Ability to interpret, adapts, and applies system data to the performance of production execution responsibilities.
2. Knowledge of a range of principles, practices, and quantitative and qualitative evaluative techniques used in project analysis to identify, evaluate, resolve, and present issues or problems to isolate discrepancies or identify trends that impact organizational mission objectives both operationally and strategically.
3. Skill in negotiating with management to accept and implement recommendations when they involve substantial resources, extensive changes, or conflict with organizational desires.
4. Skill to use, manipulate, and or synthesize various data systems and sources of information to cross-correlate data and metrics to evaluate data within the context of operational environment, develop COAs to better support mission objectives, select and coordinate with appropriate parties of interest, and champion organizational opportunities in the corporate process.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders both orally and in writing clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
6. Ability to recognize and analyze complex analytical problems, conducts research, gather, assemble, and analyze facts; draw conclusions; conduct analysis; devise recommended solutions; and summarize results of the entire process in briefings, papers, or reports suitable for top management use and decision-making.
7. Ability to develop and use appropriate data collection techniques.
8. Ability to plan, organize work and meet deadlines.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
