About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the the Sagebrush Inn Lodging Facility and Temporary Lodging Facility in Mountain Home AFB, ID.

This is a Regular-Part Time position with 20 hours guaranteed weekly, however may work up to 40 hours per week.

Duties

Help

Receives, sorts, and processes soiled linens from lodging facilities. Separates items by type, inspects for damage, and logs quantities using established inventory and tracking methods. Operates commercial-grade washers and dryers. Selects appropriate wash and dry cycles based on linen type and institutional guidelines to ensure sanitation and preservation of materials. Folds, stacks, and stores clean linen. Prepares items for pressing and feeds linens into mechanical pressers or ironers, monitoring for quality and preventing damage. Maintains accurate records of all laundry processed, including weights, counts, and delivery logs. Make calls directed to managers for delivery or pick-up of laundry products. Maintains sanitary working conditions in laundry areas, cleaning machines, carts, and lint traps regularly. Use approved cleaning agents and follow safety protocols for handling chemicals. Assists in linen supply requisitions and communicate shortages or overages to supervisors. Ensures linen rooms are orderly, secured, and free from misuse. This position is designated Mission Essential, requiring the incumbent to report during severe weather or emergencies to sustain 24/7 operations. Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
  • This is a mission-essential position critical to maintaining uninterrupted laundry services, even during and after emergencies. The role may require working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet operational needs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions related to laundry procedures and safety. Ability to safely operate commercial-grade washers, dryers, and mechanical pressers. Ability to maintain clean and sanitary working conditions in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Ability to frequently lift and carry light to medium objects weighing 10 to 30 pounds. May occasionally be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 45 pounds. Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
