Help

  • Conducting extensive research/investigations to explore new technologies and opportunities for developing program strategies to achieve agency-wide strategic goals and priorities.
  • Developing and preparing policies, procedures, and guidance on a variety of complex AI/ML IT management issues with precedent setting implications, short suspense times for response, and deviations from established regulations, or other unusual actions.
  • Collaborating with leadership and senior staff on the design, development, and execution of multiple highly complexity projects/studies.
  • Making determinations regarding major changes in program goals that are reflected in decisions to continue, diminish, or initiate technical direction in consideration of availability of resources, technical risks, and criticality of organizational requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

BASIC REQUIREMENT: Reviewing work to ensure it is in line with established standards or to identify deficiencies (Attention to Detail); collaborating with stakeholders to make progress towards a common goal (Customer service); explaining technical information orally to non-technical audiences (Oral Communication); and evaluating alternatives to recommend solutions to hardware or software problems (Problem Solving).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement.

SK-16: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-14 level:

  1. Conducting in-depth research and analysis on emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, and evaluating how they can be integrated into existing enterprise systems and architecture;
  2. Planning and overseeing information technology modernization projects; AND
  3. Developing and implementing strategies and plans for improving business processes.

  • Fail - Meets the minimum qualification requirements, but has only limited experience in several of the job related competencies.
