You will serve as a AUDIOVISUAL PRODUCTION SPECIALIST in the Office of Strategic Communications (OSC) of NCIS.

Duties

Help
  • You will initiate, plan, coordinate, and execute impactful audiovisual projects to inform and educate the general public and specialized audiences regarding programs, activities, capabilities, and services.
  • You will operate as producer, director, camera operator, lighting technician, sound recordist, scriptwriter, editor, video graphics specialist, set designer and distributor.
  • You will perform related work such as, but not limited to, all aspects of photography, such as acting as a principal still photographer, trains/mentors others and stays abreast of audiovisual technology changes.
  • You will establish and maintain a video library with a database index for easy access while duplicating and disseminating in-house visual information productions and other video material to field.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • Travel is required 50% or more.
  • This is a physically demanding position, must be able to use and lift moderately heavy equipment, aboard ships, boats and helicopters and in other environments.

Qualifications

GS-13
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: mastering of the principles, practices, methods, and techniques of audiovisual communication to effectively communicate information through the creation, scripting, directing, filming, editing, and finalizing of audiovisual products for a range of uses, including entertainment, public education, and training and development; and Engaging professionally with broadcast media representatives and public affairs professionals and working with websites and social media.
